Flu Vaccination

The Flu vaccination for strains 2015/2016 are now available at The Sloane Medical Practice.  We offer the flu vaccination to all our patients however if you are in one of the following groups we would especially urge you to have this done as flu in high risk groups can cause potentially serious complications such as pneumonia.

  • anyone aged 65 and over
  • pregnant women
  • children and adults with an underlying health condition (particularly long-term heart or respiratory disease)
  • children and adults with weakened immune systems.

It is recommended that flu vaccinations are taken annually as they change each year according to the predicted circulating strains of flu.  This year’s vaccination complies with the WHO recommendations (Northern Hemisphere) and EU decision for the 2015/2016 season.

  • A/California/7/2009 (H1N1)pdm09-like strain
  • A/Switerzland/9715293/2013 (H3N2)-like strain
  • B/Phuket/3073/2013

The cost of each vaccine is £35.
