Dr Robert Hancock FRCS MRCGP

 

Qualified: 1966 Guy's Hospital, London

After 5 years in the Royal Army Medical Corps, where he qualified as a surgeon (FRCS) Dr Hancock decided to pursue a career in family medicine. He qualified as a GP in 1974 and obtained his membership of the Royal College of General Practitioners (MRCGP) in 1977. A successful and prominent GP for over 30 years, Dr Hancock has looked after generations of Kensington and Chelsea families as well as patients from around the world.

A prominent and highly respected figure within the medical profession, Dr Hancock is a member of the Royal Society of Medicine, the Chelsea Clinical Society, the Independent Doctor’s Forum and the Medical Society of London.

Such was the demand for Dr Hancock’s friendly, expert approach to healthcare that he expanded the practice with the addition of two excellent GPs. Dr Andrew McIver and Dr Sabrina Pao joined the team in 2008 and the Sloane Medical Practice was formed.

Dr Hancock is married with four children and lives in London. He has recently helped to establish a clinic in Tajikistan, one of several planned projects in Central Asia.

Qualified: 2001 Royal Liverpool University Hospital Medical School.

Dr McIver graduated from the University of Liverpool before going on to work in some of the UK's busiest hospitals. He has worked in the following hospital specialties: Paediatrics, Psychiatry, Gastroenterology & Hepatology, Cardiology, Geriatrics & Stroke Medicine and Colorectal & Vascular.Surgery.

His Accident & Emergency experience spans 2 years included a spell on the North Queensland helicopters and 2 years in the Adult and Paediatric Emergency Room at Chelsea & Westminster Hospital.

A qualified member of the Royal College of General Practitioners (MRCGP), Dr McIver regularly speaks at conferences on topics including UK healthcare systems and Private Practice.

He enjoys the variety of General Practice and in particularly the long tem doctor / patient that this specialty is famous for.

Dr McIver is the practice lead for children's health. He also sees a variety of patients with mental health and psychological issues.

Dr McIver lives in London and enjoys independent travel, particularly to the Far Easr. He is club doctor to The Oriental Club near Bond Street.

Qualified: 2003 Guy’s, Kings and St. Thomas Medical School

Dr Pao trained at Guy’s, King’s and St Thomas’ Medical Schools in London and qualified in 2003. Following this she worked in London hospitals including Chelsea & Westminster Hospital, Charing Cross Hospital and Guy's Hospital, gaining experience in Paediatrics, Psychiatry, General Medicine and A&E, before opting to focus on General Practice. Dr Pao became a Member of the Royal College of General Practitioners (MRCGP) in 2007, the same year as she achieved a Diploma in Family Planning.

Dr Pao is Practice Lead for women’s health and has a diploma in Occupational Health.

Dr Pao is married and lives in London.

Mrs Gilda Kelly - Practice Manager & PA to Dr Hancock

 

Gilda joined the practice in 2000 as Practice Manager and PA to Dr Hancock and is in charge of the day-to-day management of the practice. She holds a degree in Chemistry from the University of Exeter and is a member of the Harley Street Direct Practice Managers Forum, for which she attends regular best practice meetings. Gilda is responsible for all non-clinical aspects of the practice.

Dr Roberta Galluccio Richardson Ph.D. - Clinical Psychologist

 

Dr. Galluccio Richardson was educated in Italy, England and the United States. She speaks English and Italian fluently and has a good working knowledge of French and Spanish, having conducted psychotherapy in all these languages. Her extensive experience with diverse populations has allowed her to establish a comfortable and productive relationship with clients from different backgrounds. Her awareness of cultural nuances makes her exceptionally skilled in servicing the needs of London's diverse population.

Dr. Galluccio Richardson trained in the United States and received her Ph.D. from Fairleigh Dickinson University (New Jersey). She trained at Johns Hopkins Hospital (Maryland), Children's Hospital of Beth Israel Medical Centre (New Jersey), Bellevue Hospital (New York), University’s Child Study Centre (New York) and the Albert Ellis Institute (New York).

Dr. Galluccio Richardson is licensed as a psychologist by the State of New York. She is a Certified Supervisor in Rational Emotive Behaviour Therapy and Vice Chair of the Association of Rational Emotive Behaviour Therapy in the UK. She is a Consulting Psychologist at Capio Nightingale Hospital, a prestigious private psychiatric hospital in West London. She joined Sloane Medical Practice in September 2009.

Her main areas of interest are: Anxiety, Anger, Selective Mutism, Phobia, School refusal, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, ADHD, Eating Disorders, Depression, OCD, Parenting Skills, Relationship problems. She treats children, adolescents and adults using predominantly a cognitive behavioural approach which has been proven effective for the conditions listed above.

 
 
Dr Alessia Ciani MD MRCPsych - Consultant Psychiatrist

Dr Alessia Ciani MD MRCPsych - Consultant Psychiatrist

 

Dr Ciani was born in Italy and graduated with first class honours at the University "La Sapienza" in Rome in 1993. Following her graduation she moved to Paris where she worked as an intern at the Hospital Cochin. In 1997, she was offered a post on the Charing Cross Psychiatry Training Scheme in West London. In 2005, she was appointed as a consultant at Charing Cross Hospital where she became the clinical lead to the South Hammersmith and Fulham Community Mental Health Team until she left in 2008. She joined Sloane Medical Practice in 2008. She also works at the Priory Hospital, a renowned private psychiatric hospital in southwest London, where she has admitting rights.

Her main area of work is in the managing a broad range of psychiatric conditions which include Mood/Anxiety Disorders and Post Partum Depression. She has a specialist interest in Developmental psychiatry (16-25 year olds), Eating Disorders, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). She has also had formal training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT).

Dr Ciani is a member of the General Medical Council, Royal College of Psychiatrists, American Psychiatry Association, The British Association of Psychopharmacology and is a fellow of the Royal Society of Medicine.

Dr Ciani is multi-lingual and consults in Italian, French and English.
