Dr Robert Hancock on sabbatical

RESEARCH PROJECT / STUDY LEAVE, AUGUST TO NOVEMBER 2012

Dr Robert Hancock has been offered the opportunity to spend three months in the United States.  He writes:

"I have decided to take up this chance so as to research various aspects of American clinical medicine, especially their management of cancer.

I shall be based in Indianapolis and hope to visit important cancer centres throughout the United States.

As the USA is significantly ahead of us in the UK in terms of medical research and investment, I believe that this project will benefit us all.

In the meantime, I can assure you that you will be very well cared for at Sloane Medical Practice, under the direction of Dr Andrew McIver, who has now been in the practice for five years and many of you have already met him.

I am most indebted for the support of the practice and my family.

I shall look forward to returning to work in the practice in the autumn.

I will remain in contact by e-mail and shall be helping out with any problems, albeit from a distance."
